Fear of failure?

b.Lack of Means?

c Lack of Time .?

d. Family Restrictions?

e.Money?

f.Responsibilities?

g.lack of knowledge?

h.Physical fitness?

i.Habits?

All these are blocks in the way of success. Make them the blocks to success.

MAKE EACH BLOCK THE STEP OF THE STAIRS TO SUCCESS.

Take the first step.😊☝️✍️👌💪👍

* WORK HARD IN SILENCE, LET SUCCESS MAKE THE NOISE.

1.There is no elevator to success; you have to take stairs.

a. Write down your dreams on a piece of paper and think about the ways and means you can use to reach there.

b. Make a plan and execute it

c. Once you decide, take the first step. Don,t give space to if and buts in your mind. It is like a fog. These are blocks 😟

d.Trained your mind to think according to your dreams.😌

e.Visualise your dreams at least two times in a day, once. At night when you go to bed. And second when you get up in the morning. Law of attraction would start working. You will find hundreds and hundreds of ways and means to fulfil your dreams. Some may be easy, and others may be tough. Take the most challenging course because it will give you a chance to learn more lessons. As many lessons you learn, it will make your success long-lasting. Each lesson is a step up the stairs to victory.

2. Nobody can help you because they don't knock about your dreams.

3. Nobody knows about your strengths and weaknesses.

4No body knows about your experiences, failures, blocks and restrictions, so this is only you who can manage if once determined 😀

What to do? Why do? How to do it?

Try to find the answers one by one. Once you find the solution of WHAT, then your mind would automatically start thinking WHY?. Finding a way can be a little bit difficult because your mind can stop you by giving different excuses, e.g. as you can live without that. You can't do that. It is next to impossible.

Finally, the journey to HOW starts. It's not that difficult because you have covered almost 80% of the path.

ONCE YOU START WORKING, THE WHOLE NATURE STARTS WORKING FOR YOU☺️

• Remain positive always.

• Remain concentrated

• Avoid NEGATIVELY.

• Do Meditation.

• listen to Music

• Read books and don't forget to make notes.

• Remain in the company of positive people.

• Speak less, think more.

• Keep patience.

All this will help in releasing Dopamine Harmon in your brain, which is a Feel-Good Harmon.

sushmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13944160615746568438noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4614422969327161750.post-64870957371955573442019-03-01T13:06:00.001-08:002019-03-01T13:06:25.625-08:00Motivational Storiessushmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13944160615746568438noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4614422969327161750.post-27387049183805060512019-03-01T12:13:00.001-08:002019-03-01T12:13:04.832-08:00Think Positivesushmahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13944160615746568438noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4614422969327161750.post-53880512291912407812018-05-16T22:01:00.001-07:002018-05-21T02:44:22.909-07:00Think Positive

An elephant took a bath in a river and was walking on the road. When it neared a bridge, it saw a pig fully soaked in mud coming from the opposite direction. The elephant quietly moved to one side, allowed the dirty pig to pass and then continued its onward journey.

The unclean pig later spoke to its friends in arrogance, “See how big I am; even the elephant was afraid of me and moved to one side to let me pass”.

On hearing this, some elephants questioned their friend, the reason for its action. Was it out of fear?

The elephant smiled and replied, “I could have easily crushed the pig under my leg, but I was clean and the pig was very dirty. By crushing it, my leg will become dirty and I wanted to avoid it. Hence, I moved aside.”

*_This story reveals :_*
_Realized souls will avoid contact with negativity not out of fear, but out of desire to keep away from impurity though they are strong enough to destroy the impurity._

_You need not react to every opinion, every comment, or every situation._

_Kick the drama and keep going ahead_
*Choose your battles wisely... Not everything deserves Ur time and attention*

Anger

When some
one is angry with you ,he or she uses different methods to irritate you.
For example
You are ignored and insulted again and again.
They
don't care your presence. They follow "who cares!!" method
You are realised as
you have done some thing very wrong with them and you are the worst person in
the universe and you always do bad with them. and they are innocent in each and
every matter. they forget all the good you had done in their bad times, your love and your helping hand when they were in
pain, they were alone .They do all this just to tease you.
They praise others
whom they don't like just to let you down they pretend as they are very happy
with them.
This gives them
relief from their mental pain. while doing this they notice you from the corner
of the eyes that whether it( their behavior) is affecting you or not. they talk
in such a way as they are talking with others but pointing you. It is felt that
they hate you. But truth is entirely different it is almost opposite. They
don't apologize, but pressurise you to do the same .They love you. Your
presence gives them relief but your not talking with them gives them the pain. It is felt that it is temporary phase of
behavior. This situation brings a turn in relationship. Generally this
situation continue not for long. Some times it takes one or two minutes, one or
two hours and ends happily.there are plenty of people willing to do that with
you. don't be too hard on your self, just learn to forgive All the situations
teach you lesson.Every mistake means you are trying. touch your heart and
nourish your soul
Surround yourself with people who make you
hungry for life. Love yourself and be proud of every thing that you do.
Every mistake means
you are trying,Within you is the power to rise above any situation or struggle
and transform into the Brightest, Strongest version of you ever.
You don’t need
anyone’s affection or approval in order to be good enough. When someone rejects
or abandons or judges you, it isn’t actually about you. It’s about them and
their own insecurities, limitations, and needs, and you don’t have to
internalize that. Your worth isn’t contingent upon other people’s acceptance of
you — it’s something inherent. You exist, and therefore, you matter. You’re
allowed to voice your thoughts and feelings. You’re allowed to assert your
needs and take up space. You’re allowed to hold onto the truth that who you are
is exactly enough. And you’re allowed to remove anyone from your life who makes
you feel otherwise.

.Don't be too hard
on yourself. There are plenty of people willing to do that for you. Love
yourself and be proud of everything that you do. Even mistakes mean you're
trying. Surround yourself with people who make you hungry for life
The
pages of yesterday cann't be revised but the pages of tomorrow are blank and you hold the pen . Make it an inspiring story. Within you is the power to rise
above
any situation or
struggle and transform into the Brightest, Strongest version of you ever.
Not everything
is supposed to become something beautiful and long-lasting. Sometimes people
come into your life to show you what is right and what is wrong, to show you
who you can be, to teach you to love yourself, to make you feel better for a
little while, or to just be someone to walk with at night and spill your life
to. Not everyone is going to stay forever, and we still have to keep on going
and thank them for what they’ve given us.
I've learned
... that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back. I've
Learned ... that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do
is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them. I've learned ... that
you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time
you see them. I've learned ... that your family won't always be there for you.
It may seem funny, but people you aren't related to can take care of you and
love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren't biological. I've
learned ... that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy
it

Don’t be afraid
to get back up – to try again, to love again, to live again, and to dream
again.

Don’t let a
hard lesson harden your heart.

Life’s best
lessons are often learned at the worst times and from the worst mistakes.

There will be times when it seems like
everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong. And you might feel like
you will be stuck in this rut forever, but you won’t.

When you feel
like quitting, remember that sometimes things have to go very wrong before they
can be right.

Sometimes you
have to go through the worst, to arrive at your best.

In your
lifetime you will find and meet one person who will love you more than anybody
you have ever known and will know. They will love you with every bit of energy
and soul. They will sacrifice, surrender and give so much that it scares you.
Someday you’ll know who that is. Sometimes people realize who it was.
A monk decides to meditate alone, away from his monastery. He takes his boat out to the middle of the lake, moors it there, closes his eyes and begins his meditation.
After a few hours of undisturbed silence, he suddenly feels the bump of another boat colliding with his own. With his eyes still closed, he senses his anger rising, and by the time he opens his eyes, he is ready to scream at the boatman who dared disturb his meditation.
But when he opens his eyes, he sees it’s an empty boat that had probably got untethered and floated to the middle of the lake.
At that moment, the monk achieves self-realization, and understands that the anger is within him; it merely needs the bump of an external object to provoke it out of him.
From then on, whenever he comes across someone who irritates him or provokes him to anger, he reminds himself, “The other person is merely an empty boat. The anger is within me.”
Some useful timeless tips
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5.. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
We all need to live life to its fullest each day, Worry about nothing, pray about everything!!!

You never asked for ‘2 more minutes’ when she woke you up in the morning for school. You always greeted guests with a respectful ‘namaste’ and never back talked. Yes, good manners are innate in you. So much so, that the words ‘sorry’, ‘thank you’ and ‘can I’ are always resting on the tip of your tongue, ready to tumble out, the moment someone does the slightest of favour for you.

So you fell sick in school and they sent you back to home. Your mom spoke to you on the phone to say, “It will be fine and I will be home soon.” Meanwhile, you took care of yourself, on that day, and on many other days.

School days were always hard. One time they pestered you to the extent that it broke you down. But she could not show up to sort your issues. So you solved the issue by yourself, on that day, and on many other days.

But do you regret it now? You have grown up a tough person. You can handle the worst of problems without needing your mom’s help.

For you, being a rebel was not about wearing the virtual armor that automatically deflected the stones that were thrown at you. It was about finding reasons and reacting accordingly.

She taught you to speak up when it was not your fault. She taught you to accept and learn lessons when It Was your fault. She explained that in order to be tough, you never have to be harsh. She urged you to raise voice for whosoever or whatever demands it. But, also to be nice everywhere else.

It was something she practiced very well at her workplace and passed on the wisdom to us.

6. She made you fix your mistakes by yourself

She never stood by you when you made blunders. She made you repent and learn and improve, all by yourself. And this practice of blundering-learning-improving helped you develop a clear view of the right and the wrong.

7. You learned to be responsible

Your mom held the responsibility of two jobs. The job that she worked for strangers facilitated her second job of putting the food on the table for the family. And mothers are humble. They will never let you acknowledge the hard work with which they raised you.

But, making your favourite kadhi-chawal while your dirty clothes happily spun in the washing machine and doing all this while pleading you to quickly change, is quite a task that deserves applause. And more so because she multi-tasked with absolute precision. Rice never burnt (okay most times at least), you never wore dirty clothes to school, and you always quickly (after a lot of yellings that is) changed!

And seeing her manage double life so smoothly made you grow into a responsible person. Now don’t you hate it when you get late from home to work and from work to home? Don’t you hate it when your friends borrow money and never return? Don’t you hate it when work does not get finished? Don’t you cry a little INSIDE when you lose your belongings?

Yes, you do!

8. You feel very strongly about gender equality

Growing up under the shade of a working mom, you could never really understand the whole deal about women being inferior to men, or women hating men. The outside world said it a lot, but our moms juggling double lives and our fathers supporting them in every which way they could; made us believe in gender equality.

9. You gained a better perspective of the ills that continue to thrive in society

They told your mother that she did a mistake by working when you were a kid. But you know your mom more than they ever did. She is a super mom who followed her heart and did what she wanted to. But what she never did was compromise on her love and attention for you irrespective of how much insane her work drove her. She was always interested in your report cards, she was always interested in knowing what’s going on in your life. She was (and is) always there for you.

Thanks to your mom, now you know reaching for stars is one’s personal wish. You also know about the importance of hitting the success mark without leaving your close ones behind. And about the society passing judgments, you never give a tiny rat’s ass.

10. She is your inspiration

If you are a working person now, you will know this. It is not easy sitting through the office yet sustaining the sanity of mind. But she did. She was an iron lady who inculcated all the things mentioned above (and many more) in you while battling work stress all the time. And today, you are proud of her. And not because she managed to stuff poha in your tiffin box while giving Mrs. Gomes directions to the Goddamn file in her office, on the phone. It goes unsaid that life of a working mother is no cakewalk but definitely, praiseworthy. She was not always there to give you shade when the Sun scorched you, she was not always there to hold your bicycle from behind when you first learned to balance, but she was there…

Almost no adage or piece of wisdom is as pervasive and repetitive in our modern world as the advice to “Live in the now.” With our ever-increasing understanding of the illusory nature of time, we gain more and more insight into the concept that whether we are lingering in the past or harboring anxiety about the future, either way we are living in illusion because the past and future don’t really exist. Aristotle called happiness, “the chief good, the end towards which all other things aim.” Certainly wallowing in past regrets or nostalgia can be a source of sorrow and festering in anxiety about what the future holds can be a source of stress and worry, but is there any direct provable correlation between our tendency to focus outside the present moment and our level of happiness in life? The answer is surprisingly, yes. In a 2010 study conducted by Harvard-trained psychologist Matthew Killingsworth, data collected from over 15,000 participants showed a clear connection between an individual's tendency to ‘mind-wander’ and their level of happiness. In order to conduct his research, Killingsworth created a program at trackyourhappiness.org which provided an iPhone app usable from the mobile devices of participants. Several times throughout the day, the app would send users prompts to answer questions about their moment-to-moment experiences and activities. The app collected over 650,000 real time reports. The participants represented a diverse range of ages, income levels, educational backgrounds, marital status’, occupations, and involved participants from more than 80 countries. Participants were repeatedly asked to answer how they were currently feeling on a scale from very bad to very good, what they were currently doing, from a list of 22 different activities, and whether they were solely focused on the task at hand or if their mind was wandering elsewhere.

The results and analysis of the data collected resulted in a 2010 Science paper co-authored by Killingsworth and psychology professor Daniel Gilbert called “A Wandering Mind is an Unhappy Mind.” According the study people were less happy across the board if they were mind wandering regardless of whether or not they reported enjoying the task at hand. In other words, even if their current task was an unenjoyable one according to them- such as an activity rated low in enjoyment like commuting to work, participants still reported being happier while focusing in the moment rather than mind wandering to other places. “As it turns out people are substantially less happy when their minds are wandering than when they’re not,” said Killingsworth in a presentation for TedxCambridge. The study also documented whether the things being pondered while mind-wandering were negative, neutral, or positive, and found that even when participants reported mind-wandering to pleasant ideas, they were still less happy than remaining present in the moment.

Be Happy

The Key to Manifesting your goals is to be in
Gratitude and Appreciation at all times, which brings Happiness. As the
saying goes :

There is no way to Happiness; Happiness is the way.

Thinking
that you will be happy once you achieve the goal unfortunately doesn't
work. The key is to BE HAPPY first and then achieve the Goal. When you
are happy, the Law of Vibration works beautifully and effortlessly. If
we are unhappy, we keep giving confusing signals to the Universe (Genie,
Subconscious). On one moment, we are asking for our Goals, on the very
next moment, we are unhappy. The Universe is confused as to what you
want: the goal or unhappiness? Be happy, do your daily rituals and see
the magic happen. Unleash the Power Within in the truest sense. One of
easiest ways to be Happy and be in the right vibration is to be in
Gratitude and Appreciation at all times.

Affirmations for the day:

I
am so happy and grateful to GOD for everything he has given me. I am
always happy as I work towards my goals and I trust that the goal is on
the way and it will come at any moment. I appreciate everything that is
around me and see the beauty .

Cosmic energy exists everywhere in the Cosmos, a band between the Galaxies, planet humans & molecules, it is the space between each & everything & a band which keeps the whole Cosmos in order & Cosmic energy is the life force & essential to maintain the order of our life & to expand our consciousness. Cosmic energy is the base of all our actions & functions. We receive some amount of cosmic energy in deep sleep & in total silence. We are using this energy in our day-to-day activities like seeing, sleeping, thinking & all actions of our body.

This limited energy gained through sleep in not sufficient for these activities and that is why we feel exhausted, tired & tensed. This leads to mental & physical stress & all kinds of illnesses. The only way to overcome this is to get more & more Cosmic energy. Cosmic energy is essential to maintain the order of our life and to lead a healthy & happy life. In order to be involved in all situations we are to obtain knowledge of Cosmic Energy and finally expansion of our consciousness. Abundant Cosmic energy is only obtained through meditation.

Sleep is unconscious meditation while meditation is conscious sleep. In sleep we get limited energy. In meditation we get abundant energy. This energy enhances the power of our mind intellect & it opens the doors for both senses and beyond. With this boosted energy through meditation, we will be relaxed, healthy & happy. It also helps to reach greater heights in the physical realm. Meditation is nothing but a journey towards the self. In meditation we consciously travel from body to mind to intellect, intellect to self and beyond.

.
.
.
<a class="_58cn" data-ft="{"tn":"*N","type":104}" href="https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/moral?source=feed_text&story_id=760364157320616">#MORAL :-
" दोस्तों हम सभी के अन्दर कोई ना कोई कमी होती है , पर यही कमियां हमें अनोखा बनाती हैं . "
उस किसान की तरह हमें भी हर किसी को वो जैसा है वैसे ही स्वीकारना चाहिए और उसकी अच्छाई की तरफ ध्यान देना चाहिए,
और जब हम ऐसा करेंगे तब “फूटा घड़ा” भी “अच्छे घड़े” से मूल्यवान हो जायेगा.

God!!

God was sitting in heaven one day when a scientist said to Him, “God, we don’t need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing – in other words, we can now do what you did in the beginning.
“Oh, is that so? Tell Me…” replies God.
“Well,” says the scientist, “we can take dirt and form it into the likeness of you and breathe life into it, thus creating man.”
“Well, that’s very interesting…show Me.”
So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil into the shape of a man.
“No, no, no…” interrupts God, “Get your own dirt.”

Mother

A Woman was admitted in a hospital as she was suffering from Brain Tumor. Her son & relatives were around her. She died within a few Hours

Her son cried the whole day & became
ill. He returned home the next day; & found a letter on the table
besides his mothers bed. Surprisingly it also had a few tablets.

His hands trembled as he read the letter;

“TAKE THESE TABLETS DEAR;
I know you catch a cold easily after crying..LOVE MUM
No matter in what condition mothers are…they always care about their children

KINDLY RESPECT AND LOVE YOUR MOTHER

A BEAUTIFUL WAY OF LOOKING AT THINGS.

A Father was reading a magazine and his little daughter every now and
then distracted him. To keep her busy, he tore one page on which was
printed the map of the world. He tore it into pieces and asked her to go
to her room and put them together to make the map again.
He was sure she would take the whole day to get it done. But the
little one came back within minutes with perfect map……When he asked how
she could do it so quickly, she said, “Oh…. Dad, there is a man’s face
on the other side of the paper….. I made the face perfect to get the map
right.” She ran outside to play leaving the father surprised.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
There is always the other side to whatever you experience in this world.
Whenever we come across a challenge or a puzzling situation, look at
the other side…. You will be surprised to see an easy way to tackle the
problem.
It was their anniversary, and Aisha was waiting for her husband Rajiv to
show up. Things had changed since their marriage, the once cute couple couldn’t-live-without-each-other had turned bitter.

Fighting over every little things, both didn’t like the way things
had changed. Aisha was waiting to see if Rajiv remembered it was their
anniversary!
Just as the door bell rang she ran to find her husband wet and smiling with a bunch of flowers
in his hand. The two started re-living the old days. Making up for
fights, then was d plan for champagne, light music And it was raining
outside! It was perfect.
But the moment paused when the phone in the bedroom rang.
Aisha went to pick it up and it was a man. “Hello ma’am I’m calling from the police station. Is this Mr Rajiv Mehra’s number?”

“Yes it is!”

“I’m sorry ma’am; but there was an accident and a man died. We got
this number from his wallet; we need you to come and identify his body.”
Aisha’s heart sank.!!! She was shocked! But my husband is here with me?”
“Sorry ma’am, but the incident took place at 2 pm, when he was boarding the train.”
Aisha was about to lose her conscience. How could this happen?!
She had heard about the soul of the person coming to meet a loved one before it leaves!
She ran into the other room. He was not there. It was true! had left her for good!!
Oh God she would have died for another chance to mend every little
fight! She rolled on the floor in pain. She lost her chance! Forever!
Suddenly there was a noise from the bathroom, the door opened and
Rajiv came out and said “Darling, I forgot to tell you my wallet got
stolen today”.
LIFE MIGHT NOT GIVE YOU A SECOND CHANCE. SO NEVER WASTE A MOMENT WHEN YOU CAN STILL MAKE UP FOR YOUR WRONGS!!!
Let’s start making amends.
To parents
To siblings
To friends
And many more.
Once a group of 50 people was attending a seminar.
Suddenly the speaker stopped and decided to do a group activity. He
started giving each one a balloon. Each one was asked to write his/her
name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.
Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the
balloon which had their name written, within 5 minutes. Everyone was
frantically searching for their name, colliding with each other, pushing
around others and there was utter chaos.
At the end of 5 minutes no one could find their own balloon.
Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the the person whose name was written on it.
Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.
The speaker began— Exactly this is happening in our lives. Everyone is
frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is.
Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness, you will get your own happiness.
And this is the purpose of human life.
DANGER!!!!
DO GOOD TO SOMEONE BY SHARING THIS...

LET EVERYONE WHO HAS A WIFE/GIRLFRIEND/ DAUGHTER/ FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES KNOW PLEASE!

Bottled water in your car is very dangerous!

On the Ellen show, Sheryl Crow said that this is what caused her
breast cancer. It has been identified as the most common cause
of the high levels of dioxin in breast cancer tissue..

Sheryl Crow’s oncologist told her: women should not drink bottled
water that has been left in a car. The heat reacts with the chemicals
in the plastic of the bottle which releases dioxin into the water.
Dioxin is a toxin increasingly found in breast cancer tissue. So please
be careful and do not drink bottled water that has been left in a car.

Pass this on to all the women in your life. This information is the
kind we need to know that just might save us! Use a stainless steel
canteen or a glass bottle instead of plastic!

This information is also being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center …

No plastic containers in microwaves. No plastic water
bottles in freezers. No plastic wrap in microwaves.

Dioxin chemical causes cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are
highly poisonous to cells in our bodies. Don’t freeze plastic bottles
with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently
the Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to
explain this health hazard.

He talked about dioxins and how
bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating food in the
microwave using plastic containers…

This especially applies to foods that contains fat.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat and plastic releases dioxin into the food.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Pyrex or ceramic containers
for heating food… You get the same result, but without the dioxin.. So,
such things as TV dinners, instant soups, etc., should be removed from
their containers and heated in something else.

Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s safer to use tempered glass, such as Pyrex, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants
moved away from the styrene foam containers to paper. The dioxin
problem is one of the reasons….

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Cling film, is just as
dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave.
As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually
melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a
paper towel instead.

DO GOOD TO SOMEONE BY SHARING THIS VITAL TIPS...

Safest place for a ship is the harbour but it was never built to stay there....

December 22, 2013 at 10:49am

Kamatchi was
born in 1898 in Kattikulam, Tamil Nadu. Those were the days when a
female child was raised with the sole purpose of getting her married
off. So was Kamatchi. By stitching together subsequent events in her
life, we gather that by the time she was twenty-five, she had five
children from her husband, Thalakaswami. He did not care much for her,
and one day just went away.

The eldest daughter was all of twelve and the youngest was two and a half years old when Kamatchi decided to take charge. We do not know how but she left Kattikulam and finally landed up in Madras in a state of destitution. She looked for work – not an easy thing in 1926.
Around the same time, there were recruitment agents looking for rubber
plantation workers for British clients in Malaysia.Kamatchi signed up
and sat in a sailboat with the five children in tow, and arrived at a
rubber plantation to become a ‘tapper’. As Kamatchi went to work,
the oldest daughter took up the task of mothering the other four. Two
of these were the in-between sons who started going to school. Kamatchi
and her brood braved on under a hutment of a swampy rubber estate until
1945. Then came the Japanese, and took away the two boys as slaves to
build the bridge over the river Kwai in Burma. This was called the ‘death railway’ because people seldom returned, falling to the rampant bouts of cholera, typhoid and malaria.

The
war was over and the Japanese retreated, but Kamatchi’s little boy
never came back. The older son somehow did and went on to complete
his higher education, eventually becoming a headmaster. On his return,
he took complete charge of the surviving siblings, and asked Kamatchi to
retire. In 1966, she passed away, a single mother – leaving
behind her legacy in Malaysia, a country with the highest number of
people of Indian origin.Kamatchi’s son, in turn, carried on her lineage.
One of his sons, Dr Vignesh, was narrating this fascinating story of
courage as he was driving me to the venue of the Malaysian-Indian
Economic Summit in Kuala Lumpur. He grew up to qualify as a veterinary
practitioner. All his siblings are in the mainstream of Malaysian
society today. I asked him about his recollections of Kamatchi. When Dr
Vignesh was a boy, Kamatchi’s sunset years had begun. Life in the rubber
estates had left her an asthmatic. But she remained until her last, the
matriarch who was a go-getter, who knew no fear, a motivator and a fighter.Though she believed in God, she was non-ritualistic and exhorted her children to rely on self-help. She used to say: "You have to take charge; God does not come through the tin roof to dole out bounties."We study
leadership and decision-making in business – a subject that fascinates
us. We debate if leaders create circumstances or vice versa. We talk
about decisions and momentous ones, with the power to create
generational impact. In all this, we analyse character in leadership,
and use analogies from political history and military conquests
because business leadership hasn’t been in existence long enough to
create narratives with directional value.

My
mind goes back to 1926. I see a twenty-five year old, illiterate woman –
nah, girl. She is with five children; the youngest by her bosom. Six
human frames and a small bundle of cloth, representing her departure
from the past. What would have happened if Kamatchi had stayed on in
Kattikulam, bemoaning the runaway husband and seeking the alms and mercy
of village elders? What would have happened if she had killed her
children and herself? What if she had abandoned them? I shudder and seek
solace in the miracle of now.In all this, what was the most important decision that Kamatchi took? For
me, it was the one to dislocate herself from Kattikulam. That single
decision changed the fate of three generations. It was the potently
unsafe option. Kamatchi did not go to business school but lived the
saying that "the safest place for a ship is the harbour but it was never built to stay there."- The spirit of Kamatchi by Subroto Bagchi.

Why walk when you can fly

Once
there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons from
Arabia . They were peregrine falcons, the most beautiful birds he had
ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer to be
trained.Months passed and one day the head falconer informed the king
that though one of the falcons was flyingmajestically, soaring high in
the sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it
had arrived.

The
king summoned healers and sorcerers from all the land to tend to the
falcon, but no one could make the bird fly. He presented the task to the
member of his court, but the next day, the king saw through the palace
window that the bird had still not moved from its perch. Having tried
everything else, the king thought to himself, "May be I need someone
more familiar with the countryside to understand the nature of this
problem." So he cried out to his court, "Go and get a farmer."

In
the morning, the king was thrilled to see the falcon soaring high above
the palace gardens. He said to his court, "Bring me the doer of this
miracle."

The court quickly located the farmer, who came and stood before the king. The king asked him, "How did you make the falcon fly?"

With
his head bowed, the farmer said to the king, " It was very easy, your
highness. I simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting."

We are all made to fly --
to realize our incredible potential as human beings. But instead of
doing that, we sit on our branches, clinging to the things that are
familiar to us. The possibilities are endless, but for most of us, they
remain undiscovered. We conform to the familiar, the comfortable, the
mundane. So for the most part, our lives are mediocre instead of
exciting, thrilling and fulfilling.

So let us learn to destroy the branch of fear we cling to and free ourselves to the glory of flight…..!!!!!

A Little Knowledge Goes A Long Way.

Once
upon a time there was a high IQ cheetah who couldn’t run at a top
speed of 120 km per hour. As a result, the Thompson’s gazelles that he
chose to chase easily outran him and he was never able to get hold of
one. Thus, in order to survive, he was forced to catch rodents and frogs
and other small animals which lived in the Serengeti.

Of course
he had to do this surreptitiously because if any of the other cheetahs
ever found out it would be terribly humiliating for him. “What’s the
use of being the fastest land animal in the world,” he would often say
to himself, “if I can’t even run down a decent high speed deer for
dinner?”

So
one day he went to a cheetah who was renowned for her astonishing
speed and blurted out his predicament. “I have all the evolutionary
adaptations that enable our species to run as fast as we do, including
large nostrils that allow for increased oxygen intake, and an enlarged
heart and lungs which work together to circulate oxygen efficiently.
Also, during a typical chase when I can accelerate from zero to 100 in
three seconds my respiratory rate increases from 60 to 150 breaths per
minute.
"And, while running, in addition to having good traction
due to my semi-retractable claws, I use the tail as a rudder for
steering which allows me to make razor sharp turns, necessary to
outflank prey who often make such turns. And yet”, he concluded lamely,
“I can’t manage a top speed of 120 km an hour no matter how hard I
try.”

“That’s interesting,” said the other cheetah who
was staring at him wide-eyed by now. “Because you know, all this time I
thought my nostrils were for only for smelling and my heart and lungs
for keeping me alive. During a chase all I ever had time to notice was that the surroundings became a blur, my breathing increasingly deep and heavy, and by the time it’s over I’m pooped for the rest of the day.
"As
for my claws and tail, I just try to keep them clean. But, like I
said, this is amazing stuff. If we were to live together I could do the
hunting while you can teach me things about myself and the world so
that I too can become as knowledgeable as you.”
So the two
hitched up and soon the Serengeti had two cheetahs that couldn’t run at
a top speed of 120 km an hour and had to live off rats and frogs
instead of gazelles to the end of their days.

Moral: A lot of knowledge is also a dangerous thing.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

Only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. - Socrates

.Every person sees the world differently, depending on his nature and vision of life. The ignorant person and the wise one – both encounter the same world; but what is the vision of a person of wisdom? How does he think, feel, and respond to the world?Someone went to a realised person and asked, ‘I know that you are an enlightened one, but what do you do all day?’The wise man replied, ‘I sleep, i get up, i take a shower, i eat and then i work.

‘That is nothing different. I also do the same.’‘But when i sleep, i sleep,’ corrected the enlightened person.‘When i wake up, i am awake. When i bathe, i bathe, when i eat, i eat and when i work, i work.’The man protested, ‘But i do all this as well! Are you trying to fool me?’‘You still do not get the point. When you sleep, you dream. And even when you are awake, you are really asleep because you live in a dream world only,’ explained the wise man. ‘When you take a shower, you begin to think of all the things that you have to do that day. When you eat, your mind is somewhere else. And when you are at work, you think of home. Generally your mind is miles away from where you are.’A wise person may look the same outwardly, but his mental state is quite different from ours. Some great souls are very relaxed; others are dynamic men and women of action and great organisers. Their behaviour can also be quite unexpected and unpredictable.Story Of Four Brothers: Once there were four brothers. When their father died, his property was divided equally among them. Since one of the brothers was a monk, the other three protested about his share. According to them, the monk did not have any need for his share of the property. But the monk fought back, and insisted on his right.

One of the disciples knew the greatness of the monk, but when he saw him fighting with his brothers, he wondered about him. In order to test him, the disciple approached the teacher at a time when all the four brothers were arguing, heatedly, over the property. He asked the monk to explain the meaning of the line from the Bhagwad Gita, ‘Anger leads to delusion.’ The monk smiled, took him aside and asked him to wait until he had finished the drama! From that day, the disciple never doubted his teacher. He realised that the monk’s anger was just for show and it was under his control all the time.It is said that it is easy to indicate Brahmn, but very difficult to describe a knower of Brahmn. This is because such a person cannot be classified as one thinking or acting in any particular manner. All speculations and imaginations have to be thrown aside. Even though the person performs all activities, he is really beyond them.

Ramana Maharshi once said, ‘Who can ever comprehend or imagine the state of the enlightened soul?’ The characteristics of a wise person are understood only by another wise person. Therefore, the only way is to become wise ourselves.
